these rumors. Jason was so sorry this tiny event between two people had made its way
into and atomic bomb exploding.
Due to Jason appearing on the TV announcements every so often it took a while
for the rumors to wear off. By the time they had, Jason hear a million different versions.
Most were bull, but only a few even came close to what had actually happened. Jason
was able to hear people talk about the rumors and show no emotions to confirm or deny
them. Jason was at the guidance Counselor s office every once in a while with emotions
high after hearing some ridiculous account of what had supposedly happened. This was
all finally being put on the back burner due to the end of the semester coming up, which
allowed Jason to live more freely.
Jason's social life began to sprout anew with the end of the semester rapidly
coming. Now people actually began to talk to him. The people that didn't talk to him
were obviously very close minded or homophobic. Jason was glad these people didn't
talk to him, because if they couldn't accept him for who he was, he wouldn t want to
change himself to suit them. He had lost a lot of weight during the stress of the first
semester so he was looking a lot better. He went from being 250 pounds to 200 pounds.
He was really beginning to feel better, when he was invited to a birthday party in Atlantic
City. Jason was so excited as this was his first birthday party in years, and he had never
seen the ocean before. The party would be happening all day this coming Saturday and
Jason could not wait.
He was really surprised at all of the good coming out of what had happened so
long ago. Even some of the "cool" people were at least vocalizing greetings as he walked
past them. This had all been so very ugly in the beginning; being taunted everyday at
school, hear rumors, etc. Now though the tables were turning. Jason was actually making
friends that liked to go bowling, clubbing, played pool, went places, and were not afraid
to meet new people. The transformation was so unexpected, but thoroughly welcomed.
Jason would never have imagined in a thousand years his life would change so much.
Jason continued taking notes in Human Anatomy, but was also busy writing notes
back and forth to one of his new friends. She was trying to invite Jason to a party this
Saturday. He had to write several times that he already had plans to go to a birthday party
with Amanda. It was Amanda's birthday party, and he knew her from working at Dunkin
Donuts. Amanda knew Jason was gay, and was happy to have only been the third one to
know he was. The first person he ever told was Rachael, then Elica (a friend of a long
time) and then Amanda. He had just finished writing once again that he wouldn't be back
at eleven, because he would be in Atlantic City, when the teacher snapped up the note.
The substitute teacher was way cooler than the normal teacher, and this was proven by
her reading the note, smiling, and then giving the note back. The bell rang soon thereafter
and out into the hall the students sped. Jason always tried to get to lunch early so he
wouldn't be standing in line for long periods of time. When he got his food, he went over
to a table and began to eat. Jason did not really know the people that sat next to him, but
he really did not care, he ate his food in delight. When he was almost done eating, he
glanced up at the clock and saw a friend of long past walking towards him with arms
outstretched. Jason hadn't talked to Angel in years, "Hi Jason."
"Hey what's up? Jason replied bewildered at seeing her.
"Nuthin; I just wanted to ask ya a question."
"Okay...Shoot,"
"Well obviously I hear rumors and before I decide to believe them, I wanna ask
the person they're about if they're true. Angel said rapidly and then raising her eyebrows
and adjusting her face as if she were apologizing for asking. Jason looked at her and
smiled.
"Well tell me, my friend, what do you know? Jason answered contently. Angel
whispered what she heard, which was the same everyone else had heard. Jason whispered
back to her fixing some of the askew facts.
"Oh my god! She burst, almost knocking the girl next to her off of her chair. "So
